Hollywoodbets CPT Street Parade

The City of Cape Town proudly prepares to welcome the Hollywoodbets Cape Town Street Parade & Choral Competitions to the iconic DHL Stadium on 5 January 2026. This much-anticipated Road March marks Day One of the Kaapse Klopse Karnival Association's Annual Kaapse Klopse Competition, where all KKKA-affiliated troupes will take to the stage and streets to compete in the opening day¿s categories.

At exactly 12h00, Somerset Road will come alive in true Kaapse style as more than 10 000 painted faces, dressed in their season's vibrantly coloured satin suits, fill the route with jingles, umbrellas and joy - jol-ing to that iinfectious beat that only a gummie and tamareen can produce. At the same time, other spectators will gather inside DHL Stadium to witness their favourite troupes officially kick off the 2026 Klopse season, going head-to-head in the following competitive categories: Klopse Jol, Best Dressed Troupe, Juvenile Drum Major & Senior / Adult Drum Major.

The first troupe will officially open the Hollywoodbets Cape Town Street Parade road march at the corner of Ebenezer & Somerset Road, setting the tone for a day steeped in heritage, pride and celebration. Stadium gates open at 11h00, with access available through all official DHL Stadium turnstiles. The DHL Stadium Stage Activation will commence at 11h30, and at 12h00, in perfect synchrony with the Road March, the KKKA Competition items will begin inside the stadium.

Important spectator notice: No tickets will be sold at the venue. No prohibited items are allowed. Thermal-printed (till-slip) tickets will NOT be accepted.
